Salute to All My School Teachers

First of all, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my school teachers who helped me be the person I am today. Whatever I am today, it is all because of the wonderful foundation I had in my school days.

Be it our very first teacher “D’Gama Miss”, as we fondly used to call her……… The affection and care she used to shower on us (1^st class students) was so motherly and made a good start for the school life.  Next “D’Silva Miss” (2^nd class teacher) helped us learn discipline but yet in a gentle way. The early education we had under the training of these teachers also laid the basis for a good English accent and vocabulary. Celina Paul Madam who was our class teacher for three years continuously… that itself shows the attachment she had with us, particularly our batch (1987-1997), which was popularly known as “Kouravas”, our class strength being 101 when we joined 1^st class.  My favourite teachers’ list always tops Nageswara Rao Master (English & Social), who himself is an encyclopedia of knowledge. I constantly appreciate his sincerity and straight-forward nature. He used to explain each and every intricate detail in text books and that’s what took “Mother Teresa” lesson (10^th class English subject) one month time to complete. But not a single class would leave us feel bored; every class used to be equally interesting. Apart from teaching the routine classes, he always used to teach so many useful lessons of life and consistently used to boost up our spirits to study well and come up in life in all aspects. One cannot forget Srinivasa Rao Master, who through his innovative style of teaching –conducting quiz, tests, extra hours of teaching in a very friendly atmosphere, made learning mathematics an enjoyable experience, which is otherwise known to be a complex subject. All our teachers, I must say, Swamy Master & Shankar Master (Hindi), Veeramallu Master & Ram Mohan Rao Master (Telugu), Vijayalakshmi Madam & Shantha Kumari Madam (N.S.), OHKP Sir (P.S.) ………….. all our teachers stood as inspiration to us through their dedicated and effective ways of teaching and carving us into the person(s) we are today.

Last but not the least……our P.E.T. classes which were always packed with loads of fun………drill, sports, games like throw ball, tennicoid, hide and seek…. the list goes endless……… How we used to play ignoring the scorching hot sun!! Furthermore, we had the opportunity to participate and prove our talents in the regularly conducted competitions essay writing, elocution, drawing, story-telling etc. Countless was the number of prizes that I proudly won in these contests. Annual Day, Independence day, Republic day....... were all used to be held with so much fun and frolic. Of all, Teachers' Day used to be the best, where we would get a chance to imitate our teachers..... Besides, there is Scouts & Guides, which is a rare combination of social work and excitement. All these help in the child’s overall development and growth. Now-a-days, we are seeing the so called convent schools, which only aim at getting state ranks, don’t have any play grounds, no extra-curricular activities, they don’t know what a drill period means……..

That’s why, whenever I recollect all my school memories, my heart beams with pride – “Yes, My school is the best!” There is no doubt that we had the best education…..
